Iconic rock band Primus is performing at Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas at The Linq. The group's current lineup includes bassist/singer Les Claypool, guitarist Larry "Ler" LaLonde and drummer Tim "Herb" Alexander.
Primus formed in 1984 with Claypool and former guitarist Todd Huth. Their first major release, "Sailing the Seas of Cheese" featured two singles "Jerry Was a Race Car Driver" and "Tommy the Cat." The album went gold and solidified the group's reputation for creating a new sound within the alternative rock genre.
While the lineup has changed over the years, the band has continued to have a lasting impact on the music scene. They've followed in the footsteps of boundary-breaking artists like Frank Zappa and Pink Floyd, creating some of the most innovative music in existence.
After recording the original theme song for the TV show "South Park" and releasing two albums, "Brown Album" and "Antipop," the group went on an extended break, which started in 2000. Their latest album, 2011's "Green Naugahyde," was inspired by the band's members at the time wanting a chance to experiment with their sound.
