"O"

Weaving a tapestry of artistry, surrealism and theatrical romance, 'O' pays tribute to the beauty of theatre. Inspired by the concept of infinity and the elegance of water, world-class acrobats, synchronized swimmers and divers create a breathtaking experience. Only at Bellagio, Las Vegas.

"O," a play on the French word for water, is a stunning aquatic masterpiece that explores a world of fantasy beyond your wildest imagination conveyed through the amazing performances of world class acrobats, synchronized swimmers, divers and an array of other characters in, on and around a 1.5-million gallon pool.

First, you’ll laugh at a silly spectacle of two clowns attempting to stay dry under the protection of a tattered umbrella as they weave their way through the audience with an oversized inner tube for a little pre-show entertainment. Once the clowns make their way backstage and the lights dim, you will suddenly find yourself surrendering into a fantastical world of wonderment as the show’s Comets (a group of the show’s characters) lures the audience’s imaginations and relaxing drum beats. As the red-robed and white-haired men make their way through the audience welcoming anticipation of the experience that is to come, an aerial artist delicately twirls from the center of the theater’s ceiling demanding the audience’s gaze upwards and signaling the beginning of the whimsical adventure that is to ensue.

Hitzville

 hitzville21

hitzville22     hitzville23

Hitzville The Show is a nostalgia-filled trip through the Motown hits of yesteryear. Vocalist Jin-Jin Reeves, along with backup singers and the five-piece Hitzville band, fills Planet Hollywood's V Theater with an authentic Motown sound and experience that will have you clapping your hands and dancing in the aisles.

Hitzville is a journey through the times and places that made Motown famous, opening up with The Pips' classic "I Heard it Through the Grapevine," and going through different acts, going from one influential Motown band to the next.

Expect famous songs like "My Guy," "Natural Woman" and "What's Love Got to Do With It," along with a few rarer tracks that will make Motown fans very happy.

Throughout the show, Reeves evokes the sound and character of Motown's most famous divas, going from Diana Ross to Gladys Knight to Tina Turner (and many others) without missing a beat. This comes as no surprise, as Reeves has shared the stage with many of the performers she covers in "Hitzville." Such energy in a tribute show is rare, but really makes "Hitzville" stand out among the rest.

Reeves' backup singers in some of the songs will catch your eye when they come out dressed in red suits when they cover The Temptations, and will continue dazzle each time they come out in colorful attire and appropriate stylings for each new act.

The group incorporates appropriate choreography into their acts, mimicking the original groups in both sound and showmanship. From their matching shoes to their side stepping and sliding across the stage, there are times when you'll truly believe you're in an authentic Motown show in the 1960's. This is further enhanced with Reeves' likeness to the divas she's covering. You're in for a treat when she gets to the Tina Turner segment of the show.

Make no mistake: you will find yourself dancing along and having a great time at Hitzville.

Legends in Concert

legends 5

The '90s are long gone, but Prince fans can still party like it's 1999 when Jason Tenner gets on stage. Star of Purple Reign, The Prince Tribute Show, Tenner and his band perform Prince's biggest hit songs including "When Doves Cry," "Let's Go Crazy" and "1999."

The show is modeled after the legendary artist's performance in the 1984 hit movie "Purple Rain." Midway through the show, performers representing Morris Day and Jerome Benton are escorted into the showroom and take the stage. They keep the crowd on their feet with Morris Day and the Time's hit songs including "The Bird" and "Jungle Love."

Let's not forget this is Vegas. No show would be complete without a sexy showgirl and this revue delivers. For the song "Raspberry Beret" a buxom brunette in little more than a red beret joins the group on stage. She performs with the band for several numbers adding an ample dose of sex appeal to Tenner's already sultry moves as Prince.

Tenner has been performing his Prince tribute show in Las Vegas for more than 10 years. Dressing up as Prince for Halloween in 1996 sealed the deal for Tenner to turn from everyday band member to tribute artist.

"I went out dressed as Prince to a party at the Hard Rock. People were following me around and wanting to take pictures, and I'm like dang, it's Halloween, this costume is pretty good," says Tenner while recalling his first time dressing as the legendary pop artist.

Before this he was performing in a '70s and '80s cover band called Mothership Connection that also dressed in costume. After Halloween he decided to add more of Prince's songs to the set and soon they became the primary thing his band performed.

"Eventually we dropped the platform shoes and afro wigs and traded them for high heel shoes and eyeliner," jokes Tenner.

The band went from performing at a college bar to playing on the Las Vegas Strip at the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay and other venues.

Being able to move and sound like Prince is something he learned from watching the movie "Purple Rain" probably more times than the editors that edited the movie, according to Tenner. He would watch the movie and then pause it and try to mimic Prince's exact movements and facial expressions. To perfect his voice he would sit in his home studio and record himself singing songs and then listen to how they sounded against Prince's voice.

Jane's Addiction

jaddiction3

Jane's Addiction is coming to the Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas to perform the band's widely-acclaimed album, "Nothing's Shocking," in celebration of the album's 25th anniversary. Noted for being among the first alternative rock bands to emerge in the early 1990s, Jane's Addiction was ranked No. 35 on VH1's "100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock" list.

"Nothing's Shocking," the band's first studio album, is regarded by critics as Jane's Addiction's best album. The first single released was "Mountain Song;" MTV refused to air the song's video because of its use of full frontal nudity. Other songs from the album include "Jane Says," "Standing in the Shower... Thinking," "Idiot's Rule" and "Pig's in Zen."

The band's current lineup includes singer Perry Ferrell, drummer Stephen Perkins, guitarist Dave Navarro and bassist Chris Chaney.

After Jane's Addiction performs, alternative rock band Fishbone is scheduled to take the stage.

"Since we're doing 'Nothing's Shocking,' it's only fitting that we invite our true brothers in arms, Fishbone, to be on the bill," Farrell said. "They were there from the beginning, they saw it all come down. Hell, they even lived with us at the Wilton House - that was crazy. They played horns, too, on 'Shocking,' so don't be surprised if they join in."

Comedy superstar, award-winning actress, best-selling author, 2012 presidential candidate and the original domestic goddess, Roseanne Barr brings her brash, bold and witty stand-up comedy to Las Vegas.

Barr joins the star-studded line-up of female comedians performing at The Venetian as part of the Lipshtick - The Perfect Shade of Stand-Up comedy series.

One of the best-known female comedians in America, funny queen Barr has headlined in comedy for more than two decades. Her raucous laugh, frank discussions of issues facing working-class American families and women, and brash comedy style has earned Barr numerous fans.

She got her start working in comedy clubs and made appearances on "The Tonight Show," but it was 1988 when Barr became a household name with her hit network sitcom "Roseanne."

The show tackled real-life issues in a lower-middle-class working family and within a year overtook "The Cosby Show" as the No. 1 show on television. "Roseanne" ran for nine seasons and won four Emmys, two Golden Globes, six People's Choice Awards and numerous other accolades.

After her sitcom ended, she launched her own talk show, "The Roseanne Show," which aired from 1998-2000. She returned to stand-up comedy in 2005 with a world tour. In 2011, she starred in an unscripted Lifetime show, "Roseanne's Nuts."

Not only can she act, write and make her fans laugh, Barr has a political side as well. She ran for president on the Peace and Freedom Party in early 2012 placing sixth overall.

Mo5aic

Mo5aic 3

MO5AIC, a five-man vocal band, uses little more than their voices and microphones to recreate popular songs, including the hits, "I Gotta Feeling," "Superstition" and "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin.'"

Earlier in their career, the vocally driven MO5AIC was an opening act for Las Vegas comedian George Wallace, and they have opened for such star performers as Prince, Stevie Wonder and Jay Leno.

In 2007, CBS News' "The Early Show" and Strip headliners Boyz II Men named MO5AIC "The Next Great A Cappella Group." In October 2008, the group won MTV's Top Pop Group competition.

In 2009, MO5AIC won two Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards for their 2008 debut album, "Will Sing 4 Food."

Just don't call MO5AIC an a cappella group.

"MO5AIC represents a much different face of the a cappella experience -- and one that is not easily definable," the band explains.

Le Reve: The Dream

lereve21

lereve22

Leave reality behind and experience the fantastical world of Le Rêve, created by Franco Dragone, at Wynn. French for the dream, Le Rêve, depicts a colorful aquatic wonderland of beautiful and mystifying characters. The experience starts when you first enter the theater and realize that this is not your typical showroom. The circular 1608-seat theater is situated around a pool that is 68-and-a-half-feet in diameter with the furthest seat only 42 feet from the water. The 27-foot-deep pool is kept at a comfortable 89 degrees Fahrenheit.  Not only does the in-the-round theater put guests at a unique vantage point, but it also makes them feel like they are part of the show as there is no clear line between the audience and the stage. Gymnasts, aerialists and synchronized swimmers appear from every angle, at times ascending from the water, descending from the high arched ceiling or running through the theater and alongside the audience. If you are seated by an aisle, you never know when you are going to look to your side and see a masked face or other curious character staring right back at you.

Le Rêve has a loosely woven storyline that begins with a woman and man dancing and then saying goodnight and goodbye to each other. The man departs the stage, and the woman lies down to rest on a bed. Together the woman and the bed slowly disappear underwater, signifying that her spectacular dream is about to begin.

Uncle Kracker

We all have that fun uncle that showers us with gifts and takes us places our parents wouldn't allow. Sorry, drunk uncle, fun uncle is totes better. And so when we heard the most famous uncle, Uncle Kracker was coming to Las Vegas, we jumped for joy and wrote a list of things we want to do with him.

Uncle Kracker, or Matthew Shafer, started his music career in 1994 as a turntablist for Kid Rock. After becoming buddy-buddy with the famous musician, Kracker was able to start the party with his own solo career. He released his first album "Double Wide" in 2000 and soon after, it was certified double-platinum. Uncle Kracker has produced hits like, "Follow Me," "Drift Away" and "Smile."

Time to hang out with Uncle Kracker and tackle that bucket list when he comes to Vegas. Hopefully he'll take us to that rated R movie we've been dying to see, we obviously still need adult supervision.

Bill Cosby

bcosby3

Bill Cosby, best known for his work on "The Cosby Show," is bringing his insightful humor to audiences in Las Vegas. Cosby, a comedian, actor, author, television producer, musician and activist, started his career as an entertainer performing stand-up comedy at different nightclubs. In 1965 he landed a role in "I Spy" with Robert Culp. He was the first African American to star in a dramatic television series. After its first season, the show finished as one of the top 20 most-watched shows that year, earning Cosby an Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series.

During the series' three-year run, Cosby continued to perform stand-up comedy. He also recorded an album "Silver Throat: Bill Cosby Sings" released in 1967. The album featured the hit single "Li'l Ole Man." After "I Spy" ended, Cosby returned to television in 1969 in a new series called "The Bill Cosby Show." The series ended after two years and Cosby returned to school to work on a graduate degree at the University of Massachusetts. Cosby's continuing education prompted his involvement with the PBS series "The Electric Company," where he recorded segments teaching reading skills to young children.

Cosby graduated from the University of Massachusetts in 1972 with an M.A. degree. That same year, he also returned to television with "The New Bill Cosby Show." The show was a variety series and did not do well in the ratings. Although this series was not a hit, Cosby found success with his Saturday morning show "Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids," which he hosted. The series ran from 1972 to 1979. It was re-named "The New Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids" in 1979 and ran for five more years. Cosby used the show as the basis for a dissertation that earned him a doctorate degree in education in 1976, also from the University of Massachusetts.

Cosby's biggest hit, "The Cosby Show," debuted in 1984 on NBC. It went on to become the highest-ranking sitcom of all time. Much of the show was based on Cosby's own life. It's one of two American programs to have been No. 1 in the Nielsen Ratings for five consecutive seasons. "All in the Family" also achieved this success. The show ended in 1992 and Cosby pursed various projects in both film and television including an appearance in "Ghost Dad," hosting "Kids Say the Damndest Things" and starring in "Cosby."

Along with his career as an actor and comedian, Cosby continues to pursue his work as a musician. He has hosted the Los Angeles Playboy Jazz Festival since 1979.

Tim Allen

timallen3

Best known for playing Tim "The Tool Man" Taylor on the hit TV show "Home Improvement," actor, comedian and author Tim Allen is taking his hilarious stand-up routine to the stage in Vegas.

What started as a dare from a friend in 1979 when Allen performed his first stand-up comedy routine at a club in Michigan, turned into a career for the budding star. From there he continued perfecting his act performing in clubs across the country before setting out for Los Angeles.

He got his big break in 1991 when he was cast for "Home Improvement." Allen's performance as the baffled yet loving husband won him several awards including a Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series and eight consecutive People's Choice Awards for Favorite Male Television Performer until the popular sitcom came to an end in 1999.

Allen also found success on the big screen and has been featured in various films including Disney's "The Santa Clause," "The Santa Clause 2" and "The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause." In 1995 he lent his voice to the character Buzz Lightyear for the Disney/Pixar film "Toy Story." The film has two sequels, most recently "Toy Story 3," which opened in late June 2010.

Along with his success as an actor, Allen is an accomplished author. His first book "Don't Stand Too Close to a Naked Man" was released in 1995 and topped the New York Times' Bestseller List. The book's success, along with the hit movie "Toy Story", resulted in Allen having a No. 1-rated television show, No. 1 box office movie and No. 1 best-selling book, all in the same week.

He followed up his first book with another bestseller, "I'm Not Really Here," published in 1997. That same year he starred in the Disney family comedy "Jungle 2 Jungle." Since then he has appeared in several other movies including "Galaxy Quest," "The Shaggy Dog," a cameo in "American Wedding" and "Crazy on the Outside."

Allen currently stars in the ABC sitcom "Last Man Standing." The series premiered in October 2011 and marks the first sitcom Allen has starred in since "Home Improvement."

Tedeschi Trucks Band

tedeschi3

Formed by husband and wife Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi, the Tedeschi Trucks Band is regarded by some as one of the most dynamic blues rock bands performing today. The group formed in 2010 when both Trucks and Tedeschi put their solo projects on hold to pursue writing music together.

The band includes another eight musicians, including a saxophonist, trombonist and a trumpet player.

Their first album, "Revelator," was released in June 2011. The album earned a Grammy Award and put the 11-piece ensemble on the map as a guiding force in music. The awards ceremony marked another monumental accomplishment for Trucks. At 32 years old he became one of the youngest recipients of the Lifetime Achievement Award as a longtime member for the Allman Brothers Band. In 2012 he was ranked at No. 16 among Rolling Stone's 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time.

In 2013, the band released "Made Up Mind," hitting No. 1 on Billboard's Top Blues Albums chart.

The group is the ultimate big band for rock and delta blues lovers. Their music also incorporates influences of funk, gospel, jazz and world music.
