Serving the Lake Mead National Recreation area including Lake Mead, Lake Mohave, Black Canyon and the Colorado River below Hoover Dam. Evolution Expedition guides are CPR and Wilderness First Aid certified. They are professionally trained and have extensive knowledge of kayaking and hiking in the back country.

Being outdoor enthusiast and being passionate for our environment, they offer more than just taking people kayaking on the Colorado River. Safety is our number one concern. Before we take anyone out on Lake Mead or into the Black Canyon below the Hoover Dam we will brief you on the importance of safety on the water.

In addition, we practice the Leave No Trace principles. We feel the most relevant and effective long-term solution to maintaining the beauty, health of, and access to natural lands is taking care of our environment. Evolution Expeditions strives to build key partnerships that support education programs, training and communities of volunteers, educators, land managers, organizations/ corporations committed to teaching and instilling the values of Leave No Trace.

Anasazi Tour

This guided kayak adventure paddles from September through May. Start hiking from White Rock Canyon Trailhead through a twisting slot canyon caved by Mother Nature over the centuries that leads to the Colorado River. Continue to the Arizona Hot Springs where you can soak in geothermal heated pools situated between the slot canyon walls. Board a kayak at the rivers edge and enjoy the beauty of Black Canyon, Emerald Cave and the 1920 Water Gaughing historical sites while paddling down the Colorado River approximately 8 miles until you reach Willow Beach.

Hoover Dam

This guided kayak adventure paddles all year and starts with a fish eye view of the Hoover Dam. Continue down river with ample time to steam inside the Sauna Cave, explore slot canyons, leap from rock formations into the cool Colorado River and soak in the natural Hot Springs along the way. Enjoy the beauty of Black Canyon, Emerald Cave and the 1921 Water Gauging historical sites while paddling the Colorado River approximately 11 miles until you reach Willow Beach.

Hemenway Tour

kayak2This guided kayak adventure paddles all year (excluding holiday weekends) on Lake Mead. Start at Hemenway Harbor with possibilities to explore the Boulder Islands, Hoover Dam, Ancient Paint Pots and the Kingman Wah. Enjoy the crystal clear emerald waters of the Colorado River while kayaking. Summer is perfect for diving into the refreshing water between island stops.

Webbed Foot Tour

This guided kayak adventure paddles all year from Willow Beach and continues up river while paddling in the Colorado Rivers eddies, view aquatic life, migratory foul and other wildlife. Enjoy the beauty of Black Canyon, Emerald Cave and the 1921 Water Gauging historical sites.

Hemenway Twilight Tour

This guided kayak adventure. Paddles from May through September while water tempuratures on Lake Mead range from 73 degrees to 83 degrees during this period and launches from Hemenway Harbor while the sun is preparing to set and the neon lights of Las Vegas begin to brighten on the horizon, providing daylight. Preceding the tour to ensure your kayak is custom fitted for comfort.  Both kayaks and paddlers receive flowing devices to ensure visibility and safety while on the water. This twilight excursion is perfect for a serene, tranquil kayaking adventure to either Boulder Islands or the Hoover Dam where this magnificent structure is brightly illuminated  by its own hydroelectric power.

Shuttle Pickup and Refund Policy

24 hour cancellation are required from shuttle pickup time or launch time for a full refund. No shows at time of pickup or launch, no refund. Shuttle drivers will wait 10 minutes prior to departing. Please be courteous to other kayakers and promptly show up on time at your pickup location or launch location. Special meal requests incur at a $10 surcharge
